Championship
Kickboxing returned to the Ulster Hall, Belfast on Saturday
5th October, when the first All Ireland WKN Full-Contact
Kickboxing Championships for males reach the finale.
This was the first year that all must of the eleven weights
were contended for in one evening, since the mid eighties.
The event was filmed for Sky Sports with two separate
one-hour programmes that will be produced for broadcast
on the 6th and 13th November at 9pm. TV3 will broadcast
a one hour highlighted programme sometime in November
(Date to be confirmed).
The championships will help
establish the long awaited official WKN ranking system,
which will elevate fighters from all over Ireland to
bigger and better things. But most importantly it helped
create the perfect opportunity for clubs to come together.
