KickBoxing at the Hilton Hotel Strathclyde Scotland

Back to the Hilton Hotel for more Championship action

There were five ProKick fighter that traveled across the Irish sea to the Hilton Hotel in Strathclyde -but only three got to square up with their Scottish cousins. Tighter medical tests saw two of the Scottish fighters ruled unfit to fight by the event doctors. Therefore, Portadown super heavyweight James Gillian and Ballynahinch man Nick Baird both won by default.

Gary Noade want to fight on but the doctor said no! well done HughBiggest upset of the night: North Down Man Gary Noade suffered a major set back at the Hilton when he lost both his British & European titles to Scotsman Hugh White due a cut on his left eye in round three. White started very fast putting the champion under a lot of pressure and almost made him look anxious at stages of the first. However, Noade settled down well in the second round connecting with some nice shots. In the third Noade looked to be a taking a good control on the bout connecting with some nice combination including fast uppercuts and good body shots. But then disaster struck, White caught Noade with a glancing right hook to his eye which cut the former champions left eye. The referee called the doctor to the ring and after one look he quickly called a halt to the bout. Noade's coach Billy Murray said 'Gary is down morally, but certainly not out, he was just starting to find his form when he got involved in a scrap when he shouldn't have and got cut, that's the fight game'. A date for the rematch has been set, with White agreeing to travelling to the Park Avenue Hotel on Sunday June 23rd. One certainly not to miss!

Jumping kick by BrianGlen man - Brian Boyd is already stamping his authority on the World of competitive kickboxing after he recorded his second victory in knockout fashion over Scotland's Barry Gould on Saturday night. Boyd who is enjoying a successful transition from Irish league football, maintains he hasn't made any concrete plans for either of the two sports, but insists the buzz of being in the kickboxing ring is much greater than on the football field. Boyd started the bout full of confidence despite giving away a few inches in height and a few pounds in weighed. Unfazed by this he connected early on in the first with some unorthodox but, spectacular and powerful jumping kicks to the head on Gould. The tough Scot on the canvas at the end of the first with only the bell saving him from being counted out, however were I was sitting it didn't look like a big punch more of a slip. The second round saw Boyd concentrate more on his hands with Gould keeping Boyd on the back foot. A minute into the winner over the brave barry Gouldthird round Boyd pushed forward unleashed a barrage of punches finishing off with a powerful left hook witch knocked Gould to the canvas. The paramedics on standby brought him round and got him to his feet and later brought to Hospital purely for precautionary measures. Brian will also feature in the Park Avenue Hotel on June 23rd. And the gutsy Barry Gould will also feature at the Park Ave bill but against another opponent.

Nick & Paul...thanks Paul!Ballynahinch man Nick Baird settles for a demo bout after his opponent failed a medical by the doctors, the talented Ballynahinch won his first bout two weeks ago in Waterford but had to make do with a demonstration match which means it's not a real bout, more of a show fight. Baird looked good as he shared the ring with English man Paul Greaves. However team mate - Big James opted for the easier option - the four course meal as no one was available to join the 20 stoner in the ring.

Belfast's Tony Millar has made it four wins from four contests - the Young Belfast ProKick fighter is building his competitive record at a fast and furious pace. The sixteen year old made it his four victory when he travelled to the Hilton Hotel in Strathclyde on Saturday. Millar got off to quite a slow start against Stevie McFaden of Scotland, with the Scot clinching the first round. Millar came back strongly in the second with some pinpoint accuracy from both his hands. In the final round Millar looked to be on top and his good work in the second meant that all three judges only saw one winner. Tony will be back in action at the Park Avenue Hotel on Sunday June 23rd. Check out the Prokick.com of all the fight details for upcoming events.
