Three fighters travelled together from Ireland - One from Galway in the South, Paul Cummins, and from Belfast in the North, John McFarland and Kenny Bishop. First up was 17 year old Mc Farland Vs Fredric Verger of France aged 23. This was over 3x2 mins rounds under Full-Contact rules. The Belfast boy who's just turned 17 lost on a close point verdict to the strong France man Fredric Verger, there were no knock downs in the bout but Verger's strength was in the inside - McFarland was on the outside with his kick.Well done both fighters.

Vadym Lupo (Swiss) Vs Kenny Bishop (Belfast) 3x2 mins under Free/style rules. Lupo from Switzerland was not Bishop's planned opponent, unfortunately for Bishop he was a late substitute. Bishop give away a few Kilo's in weight and fight experience, the first round Bishop started hard and fast - the Belfast man - clearly the better with the low kick, since it was the Swiss fighter's first contest under these rules. At the end of the first round Bishop was caught with a right hook and went down for a count of 8. 'Thank goodness for the bell' he said later!. It was a very even match in the second. The final round Bishop realised he was behind on points and tried to step up the his work-rate. Bishop scored with low leg kick knock downs but that was not enough to win the match. Well done to Vadym Lupo as this was his first bout with leg kicks, and thanks again for stepping in to help us out but next time say..NO..Thank you!.

A special award from the organisers to the Irish team for making the long trip from the Emerald IsleBernard Laroudie (Fr) Vs Paul Cummins (Ire.) This was a very evenly matched professional bout under Full-Contact rules over 5x2 Min rounds, both fighters having around the 25 fights each at weighing in at 70.5kg. From round one Cummins forced the fight and clearly wanted to work on the inside, completely the opposite from the French man Laroudie, his plan was to use the long-range approach by staying on the outside. This was a super bout to watch two great Pro's in action. A very competitive match right to the end - with no knockdowns throughout the bout. Finally the Irish man took a majority verdict from the judges.
