is a great introduction to and training guide on the Filipino boxing

The dates for the Wisconsin Camp have been set!! This year's camp
starts on Saturday, August 12 and runs thru Tuesday August 15. Rick
Faye teaches 20+ hours of Kali, Panantukan, Jun Fan, Wing Chun,
JKD Concepts, Muay Thai, Equipment training, Ring strategy, Silat,
Grappling Arts and more at this beautiful campus on a Lake Owen
in Wisconsin. Pete Hetrick has hosted this camp for 11 years now

Thai Legend Rob "Viking" Kaman visits Calgary, Canada
Retired Dutch Superstar and
the first athlete in history to win World Titles in Muay Thai, Kickboxing
(allowing leg kicks) and Full Contact rules (kicking above the waist)
Rob Kaman makes a visit to host Mike Miles National Kickboxing/Muay
Thai in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on April 1st, 2000.
The one day seminar will be broken down into 2 training periods
with the first starting at 10:00 a.m. and the second starting at
2:00 p.m.
Credited as being a thinking man's fighter and literally being the
athlete who pioneered leg kicking 'tactics' (not leg kicking) that
are now commonplace and emulated world wide, host Mike Miles is
ecstatic about the visit.
The seminar has limited registration of 40 athletes (a few shy of
being full).
Pre-registration is $150 Canadian. No reserving a place in the seminar

Thai, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts 'Smoker' hits Calgary,
Canada
Calgary's National Kickboxing/Muay
Thai hosts it's second Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts
gala of the new millennium, the "Punch & Crunch # 3" on April
8th, 2000.
The Main Event features Calgary's Sokhim "The Machine" Or against
Thailand's Manase Majurae in a 5 round modified Muay Thai rules
bout. The 10 bout event features 4 Mixed Martial Arts (fought under
Pankration rules) with athletes competing from across Western Canada.
The Mixed Martial Arts events are sanctioned by the Canadian Mixed
Martial Arts Council (CMMAC). The event will be taking place at
Mike Miles National Kickboxing Muay Thai - Northwest, located at
#25, 7750 Ranchview Dr. N.W. in Calgary.
Seating is limited to only 400 seats. Doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
and the fight event starts at 7:15 p.m.
The undercard will features Calgary's Erin Linley battling for a
Canadian Kickboxing Title against Lee Anne Liesemer, Edmonton's
Justin Parson's in a heated battle for the Western Canadian Kickboxing
Title against Calgary's Ronnie Stone and up and coming talent.

Muay Thai Competition hits Calgary, Canada
Canada hosts it's first World
MuayThai Council fight event.
On May 6th, 2000, Mike Miles Promotions will promote "CLASH
REUNION 2000" and feature Canada's top Super light heavyweight Muay
Thai prospect Nick "Scorpion" Ring, headlining a 10 bout Muay Thai
extravaganza where he battles against Thailand's Hanarong Wittache
for the vacant WMC Intercontinental Muay Thai Title.
The event will be taking place at Max Bell Arena, located at 1001
Barlow Trail S.E. and tickets being available through TICKETMASTER
(403) 777-0000 with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the international
fight event starting at 7:15 p.m. The event will be covered by Canada's
top sports channel TSN.
The undercard features Trevor "T.N.T." Smandych in a WMC Intercontinental
Welterweight Muay Thai Title Bout against Thailand's Charun Sakcharonchai.
Canada's Vanessa "La Belle" Bellegarde steps into the ring against
one of Thailand's top female athletes (as yet to be named). Vanessa
won the IAMTF and the WKA World Bantamweight Muay Thai Titles in
1999.
The event will also host international competition featuring Team
Canada against Team Japan - Canada's Keith Crawford takes on Japans'
Makoto Simizu in Superheavyweight action. Canada's Jason "Raptor"
Jillain takes on a Japanes athlete as well (as yet to be named)
in full Muay Thai rules competition. Team Canada will also battle
against Team Mexico which will highlight Canada's Ashley "Terminator"
Odd against Mexico's Oscar Contreras, Canada's Gord Anderson against
Mexico's Daniel Zapata, and Canada's Yuki "Little Samurai" Tatsuno
against Mexico's Bernardo Gonzales. Canada's Kerry Dell makes his
comeback (after a short lived retirement) against Brian Kelly.
In a rematch that promises to be a scorcher Calgary's Sokhim "The
Machine" Or rematches Toronto's Jeff Sharpe. Their last encounter
ended in a no contest due to an accidental foul.

Muay Thai Master and author
of the Muay Thai 'Bible' - 'Muay Thai - Pahuyuth / The Most Distinguished
Art of Fighting', Acharn Panya Kraitus visits Calgary for the month
of May 2000.
The Master is heavily booked at Kru Mikes Miles 6 Muay Thai locations
as well as across Canada in other independant gyms to perform seminars
on Muay Thai, both for competitive athletes as well as for those
just wanting to learn the Art.
Acharn Panya Kraitus is recognized as one of the few living Muay
Chaiya Masters (southern style Muay Thai concentrating on elbow
technique) in Thailand.
Under his guidance, Canada has produced athletes that are recognized
and regarded for their excellent elbow technique. "Canada's athlete's
have excellent elbow technique'" says Dr. Somporn Sangchai, the
head of the very prestigious and historic Phraya Phichai camp. "When
battling with any Canadian athletes trained by Acharn Panya Kraitus
or Kru Mike Miles, watch out for the elbows!," says WMC co-ordinator
Stephan Fox.
The Master's book, was written on a promise to his most famous teacher
Supreme Master Kyet Sriyapai. Acharn Panya's lineage is recognized
in Thailand with the utmost respect.

SOUTH AFRICA - Cape Town, STEVE'S GYM PROMOTIONS, The South African
Muay Thai Association, and WKN South Africa will present the best,
action packed Thai Boxing GALA event ever in Cape Town at the Wynberg
Military Sports Complex March 19, 2000. There will be 6 Thai Boxing
Title fights on the card as well as 3 other 5 x rounds contender
fights plus 4 more local bouts. One of the other great attractions
will be for the vacant WKN South African Middleweight Full Contact
Rules Title. This specific bout will see the maiden entrance of
WKN into South Africa.
At a previous event held in
Cape Town at the Military sports complex in September 1999, there
was a capacity crowd of 1400 people - with 3 S.A. Muay Thai titles
at stake. The ladies' events on that bill proved to be the most
exciting and with this next event on the 19th March 2000, Kickboxing
fans will appreciate it even more as there will be some very exciting
fighters participating and showing off their skills. Other K-1 Celebrities
and World Champions will be in attendance. Watch our for our very
own 3 x World Full Contact Kickboxing Champion, Tollie Enslin of
Mandeni, Kwa Zulu Natal, who will be doing his first debut contender
fight under Muay Thai Rules! Should he successfully defeat Loyo
Katiya of Port Elizabeth, he will move to the top of the rankings
for the next Muay Thai Title challenge, scheduled for end April
or early May 2000.

& FERNERLY NEW IKF WORLD CHAMPIONS ON MARCH 4TH HERE IN SYDNEY!
The THUNDERZONE IV (March 4th)show
was a huge success, with the Thunderlegs fighters showing that they
are a force to be recond with World Wide.
The fight results are as follows:
IKF WORLD FEATHERWEIGHT MUAYTHAI TITLE(57.2kg)
Ali "Lightning" Hallak(Thunderlegs Gym, Australia) def. Alberto
Ramirez(Seattle, USA)
1st Round K/O with punches. Ramirez had strong kicks, but after
being dropped once by Hallak, Ramirez knew that he was in for a
hard fight. Shortly after, Ramirez was on the canvas & Hallak awarded
his second IKF World Featherweight Title, winning his first title
(Int.Rules) against Lucky Notschele(Sth.Africa) in Sept. last year.
Hallak also holds the WKO World Bantamweight Title.
IKF WORLD FEMALE BANTAMWEIGHT MUAYTHAI TITLE(56.4kg)
Holly "Wildcat" Fernerly(Georges Gym, Sydney) def. Julie Wood (Auckland,
New Zealand)
1st Round with knees. This is Holly's second IKF World Title, winning
her first Title (Int. Rules) against Lynette Els (Sth.Africa) 3rd
round KKO last September.

Bobby "Mr.Risky" Ristevski(Thunderlegs Gym, Australia) def. Dean
"The Mean" Archer(Hamilton, New Zealand)
Unanimous decision over 5 rounds. Both boys fought before back in
November in New Zealand, but the fight was declared a "DRAW", but
this was an unjustly decision so the rematch had to happen. Keep
an eye out for Bobby Ristevski. He will be a World Champion within
2 years as he is only 20yo.

After Ali Jackos great success
in The York Hall - London, Jacko will promote three further WKN
sanctioned events on the 28th Feb when Dillon Spencer tops the bill
to defend his WKN European title to Kodad of France. WKN World president
Stephane Cabrera will supervise this event.
British
WKN light heavy title
Gary Langford will promote a
British WKN light heavy title Alex Wasonovich vs. Chris Wooden.
Promotion will be in Scotland. Other Promos planed : Doug Harris
will promote a major title . Lex Easton will promote in Motherwell
town hall. The biggest event in the UK will be in BELFAST Waterfront
Hall on the 25th March. A fighter from each continent will appear
on the card with six major titles up for contention.
